About the Workshop:

Opera brings together music, drama, storytelling, movement, and visual art to create a unique theatrical experience. But how do we make this art form more accessible and engaging for students?

This workshop explores the building blocks of opera, its key conventions, voices, composers, and iconic works. Through listening, discussion, visual material, and practical activities, we’ll explore ways to introduce opera meaningfully to students of different ages and musical backgrounds.

About Yaashvi Kedia:

Yaashvi Kedia is an internationally active conductor, pianist, and music educator, with conducting experience across India, Venezuela, and Romania. She is the founder of Opera Sundays with Yaashvi, a platform introducing audiences to the world of opera, and co-founder of Maestera | All Things Music, a Pan-India music education platform.

A graduate of Middlesex University, London, Yaashvi has worked with orchestras, choirs, and music institutions in India and internationally. She is passionate about making classical music and opera accessible, engaging, and relevant to new audiences.
